Community Advisors

The Ukrainian Welcome Center is hiring 2 community advisors:

·        $19/hour

·        10-19 hours per week

 

This individual will be responsible for providing individualized community support to clients and their families with regards to their health and wellness.

 

 

Community Advisors will help clients with the following:

 

·        An introduction to the Department of Health and Welfare and its’ available programs: SNAP, Medicaid, WIC, ICCP, etc.

·        Self-sufficiency education and consultation:

o   How to acquire a driver’s license

o   How to open a bank account

o   How to shop for groceries, use self check-out, and select healthy food options

o   How to gain access to local gyms including subsidized rates through non-profit membership options

o   How to open and manage utility accounts

o   How to access healthcare provider for

- Primary care

- Mandatory screenings and vaccination

-  Dental care

-  Mental/Trauma care and counseling

-  Vision care

o   How to access housing services

 

Community Advisors will also provide sponsor education, providing guidance to families that are preparing accepting Ukrainians arrive to Idaho. Community advisors will educate sponsors on:

·        Available DHW resources for incoming families

·        How to prepare to welcome Ukrainian Families and Individuals

 

 

Qualifications:

    · Must be at least 21 years old

·       Must be fluent in English, Ukrainian, and Russian

·       Must be fluent in using a computer, including email, virtual meetings, and Microsoft Office.
