Based on what we've seen Ukrainian's are given parole for 12-24 months. After your parole is up, you may be able to file for an extension.

STEP 2: Apply for Federal Benefits

Applying for work authorization (also known as EAD) will be one of the first things you'll want to do after arriving in the US. Approval for EAD can take up to eight months, in most cases they are approved between 3 and 6 months. 

In order to apply for the fee waver, you will need to fill out the PDF version of these forms. There are lots of video tutorials available online. You can also visit Catholic Charities of Idaho (www.ccidaho.org) and schedule an appointment to get help with these forms for a small fee. 


You may also be eligible for Refugee Cash Assistance. Please call our office to schedule an appointment to determine whether or not you are eligible. Individuals must apply for RCA within 90 days of entering the US.


Driver's License

To apply for a driver's permit in Idaho, you will need a Social Security number, your passport, and a utility bill with a date and your current address. For those that are unable to be approved for a Social Security Number, you can bring the denial letter from the Social Security Administration.
